The Truth About Aging Your Doctor Won't Tell You
Imagine being biologically 16 years old on paper, yet still battling chronic kidney disease. This is why when doctors tell you that your biological age is 16, if they're basing it on DNA methylation tests, they're being misleading. The truth is, DNA methylation can be tissue-specific, meaning what's happening in one organ's DNA might be entirely different from another's.
It's not telling you the whole story. So these tests measure your overall DNA methylation age, which gives you a snapshot of how your cells are aging across your body. But what they don't do is break down how each individual organ is aging.
Let me give you a specific example of this. In chronic kidney disease, the hypomethylation patterns in specific enhancer regions of DNA cause the overexpression of genes that are harmful to the kidneys, leading to progressive damage and fibrosis. It's like a snowball effect, because once these methylation patterns shift, they keep driving the destruction, unless you find a way to reverse them.
Now, while antioxidants like glutathione and bioacids such as TUDCA and antifibrotic agents like telmisartan, bromantane and bemethyl can be beneficial, they don't fully address the underlying issues in chronic kidney disease. And while they'll help, and maybe over time change the methylation patterns to some extent, you're going to come up short if you also don't use peptides that are able to get in there and change the gene expressions and interact with histone proteins in a way that ultimately changes DNA methylation patterns. And this is very important because in chronic kidney disease, it can cause a lot of other symptoms, like low erythropoietin production, which is what signals to your bone marrow to produce red blood cells, so you may even end up anemic.
So supporting kidney function with the addition of peptides is essential in these cases in order to prevent further damage and to deccelerate the decline. Now, there is a bioregulator peptide called pielotax, as just one example, and it works synergistically with other confidence peptides designed to target kidney health. Like I've been saying, while these bioregulator peptides are mostly targeted to the organ from which they're derived from, it's not entirely true, as some certain unexpected ones have crossover on other organs too, which makes for potent, yet synergistic combinations.

But getting back to the DNA methylation test and biological aging, different organs age at different rates, as I just explained in the prior example. Our thymus degeneration is the first to occur sometime during puberty, followed by a decline in our bone marrow, and then other organs as well.
But if we have certain health problems like chronic kidney disease or genetic predispositions, it can cause certain biological systems to age faster than others. Now, while genetic testing in our coaching programs is super important for better understanding this for you, someday we will need the extra DNA methylation test which can pinpoint your biological age for each organ individually. And this level of precision combined with other biomarkers and genetic testing, wow, that could be really good for optimization and prevention for various diseases.
