Fitness Industry Not So Fit
Scrolling through my YouTube feed reveals numerous thumbnails featuring some of the most popular fitness YouTubers indulging in processed and fast foods. Some have even created brands selling these foods, filled with poor ingredients, while advocating for a diet style known as 'If It Fits Your Macros' (IIFYM).
What is If it fits your macros
For the uninitiated, IIFYM involves setting a daily caloric goal and allotting a specific amount of proteins, carbs, and fats to meet that target. The premise? You can eat anything you want as long as it fits within these macro and calorie limits .
IIFYM problem
Proponents claim its effectiveness in both weight loss and weight gain, and while that part is true, the specific types of foods you eat really do matter if you care about optimizing your testosterone, dopamine, libido, muscle, joints, skin health, and cognition.
Sure, combining IIFYM with nutrient-dense whole foods is an option, but the concern lies with certain 'fitness influencers' sending the wrong message to guys who look up to them. It's like saying, 'Hey, I'm a role model in the fitness industry and I eat junk food, and you can too.'
It's like they're promoting the fast food industry over health and fitness, contributing to the rising prevalence of erectile dysfunction and low testosterone we see today. In case you don't believe me, I'll give a few examples of this.
Fast Food: Just One Example
Consider the alarming findings regarding fast food contamination:
100% of the 41 samples tested at fast food chains across America tested positive in heavy metals including lead, mercury and cadmium, ¹³ all of which can disrupt endocrine function. ¹⁴ ¹⁵ ¹⁶.

The Consequences
This leads to men who aren’t feeling as good as they should be searching for answers, only to come across toxic supplements being pushed in the mainstream or sold by the same or other 'fitness influencers'.
Nutrition is so important if you want to perform your best, yet its often overlooked. That's why we call our nutrition guide "the missing link" because it's so fundamental, but yet seems to have been forgotten by so many men.
The state of western healthcare
I was watching a youtuber recently who was hospitalized for heart problems. The hospital was serving him pancakes, syrup, and doughnuts.
Hospitals, places meant to promote healing, are serving up foods with sugar and unhealthy fats to patients who are already sick! The hallways are lined with vending machines stocked with junk food.
Many of these hospitals have contracts with these processed food and drink companies including Coca-Cola.
I am sure that once common sense catches up with the mainstream, we will look back on this and realize how crazy it all was.
